Landscape Committee - Garden Club
We are a group of volunteers
who love gardening
and volunteer to help
maintain the landscape and flowerbeds
along with the Chicago Park District
because we believe in
preserving public green spaces
for today
for tomorrow
for you
for ourselves
for future generations.

Volunteer Opportunities at Skinner Park:
1) Volunteer for one day or for Spring / Summer.
2) Two methods to adopt a flowerbed this spring and summer
a) donate money for plants / flowers
- plaque with doner's name will be displayed in flowerbed
b) help maintain the flowerbed for spring / summer
- plaque with volunteer's name will be displayed in flowerbed
3) Fall Cleanup / Bulb Planting ( date will be announced later )
4) Shovel snow in the winter ( just kidding )
Volunteer Levels at Skinner Park:
1) Landscape Project Leader (must be a Skinner Park Advisory Council Member or a Friend of Skinner Park)
Active in day to day issues
Help to guide landscape policies and design
Weekend Warrior duties
2) Weekend Warrior
Volunteer on a regular basis to help maintain Skinner Park landscape and flowerbeds
2 days a month ( spring to fall )
1 day a month ( spring to fall )
3) One Day Army -- volunteer for special projects for one day
Earth Day – clean up Skinner Park and plant flowers
Public Lands Day, etc.
Planting Day ( Other planting days will be posted on our website )
