We have been getting questions about whether grilling and fire pits are allowed at Skinner Park. Grilling/BBQing is prohibited at Skinner Park per the posted signs. No area can be a designated grilling area at Skinner Park based on Park District rules. Per the Park District, all fire pits including the one pictured below are prohibited at ALL parks. Please respect these rules for the safety of all park patrons and the parks. We would hate for fire to accidentally hurt someone or cause damage to Skinner Park and other parks when volunteers and the Park District have worked so hard to maintain and improve the parks especially during COVID-19 so that everyone can share and enjoy the greenspace. We have already found smothering fires in the morning from illegal fires and grills set the day before.
